The Research Institute of the National Museum of Ethnology (MINPAKU) has about 60 academic researchers, whose specialties include various disciplines within the Humanities, such as Ethnology, Sociology, Linguistics, Archaeology, and Arts.  As an Inter-University Center, Minpaku serves as a Center for academic interaction between researchers from different Academic Institutions in Japan, and hosts various team research projects, in addition to the individual research projects conducted by each Minpaku researcher.
